Mission Statement

The Northeast Regional Invasive Species & Climate Change (NE RISCC) Management Network aims to reduce the compounding effects of invasive species and climate change by synthesizing relevant science, sharing the needs and knowledge of practitioners, building strong communities of scientists and practitioners, and conducting priority research. Our network includes invasion scientists, climate scientists, natural resource managers and practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders from the broader public.

The Northeast RISCC Network was founded in 2016 in collaboration with the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (NE CASC). Both organizations envision transforming the way that science is done by centering our work on relationship building. Relationship building, in turn, helps both to build stronger connections between science and practice and to ensure that NE RISCC advances actionable science. As the NE RISCC network has grown, we have also supported the growth of RISCCs in other regions and the development of a broader RISCC community across the United States and around the globe. Our mission positions NE RISCC as a boundary spanning organization - we connect and integrate science and practice to support informed management of invasive species in a changing climate.
